Our Vision

Thodberry RTI Intelligence is a public, searchable platform that organizes Right to Information (RTI) replies from across India into structured, easy-to-understand insights for citizens, journalists, researchers, and institutions.

The Problem We're Solving

Today in India, RTI replies are:

  • Scattered across emails, PDFs, and WhatsApp messages
  • Hard to search and discover
  • Repeatedly requested again and again
  • Lost forever after serving one applicant

Result: Citizens waste money filing duplicate RTIs. Journalists miss patterns. Activists work in silos. Public accountability is weakened.

Our Solution

Thodberry RTI Intelligence will:

  • Collect RTI replies (legally obtained, public)
  • Sanitize & standardize them
  • Extract key disclosures
  • Organize them by department, topic, and location
  • Make them searchable and reusable

What This Platform Is NOT

We don't file RTIs on behalf of users. We only archive replies already received.

We don't publish confidential information. Only legally disclosed public data.

❌ Not Political

We're not a political opinion site. Facts only, no bias.

❌ Not Whistleblowing

We're not an anonymous leak platform. All data is properly sourced.

This is a curation + intelligence platform, not activism theatre.

Editorial Policy

Content Standards

All RTI replies published on this platform must meet the following criteria:

  • Legally Obtained: Must be disclosed under RTI Act, 2005
  • Verified Authenticity: Documents are reviewed for authenticity before publication
  • Properly Sanitized: Personal information (phone numbers, addresses) is masked
  • Source Attribution: Every RTI includes department, date, and contributor credit
  • Neutral Language: Summaries use factual, non-editorialized language

Moderation Process

Upon submission, each RTI reply goes through:

  1. Authenticity verification
  2. Personal data masking
  3. Key disclosure extraction
  4. Metadata tagging
  5. Quality review before publication

Rejection Criteria

We will not publish RTI replies that:

  • Contain personal data that cannot be sanitized
  • Appear fabricated or lack authenticity
  • Violate any laws or court orders
  • Include information disclosed in violation of RTI exemptions

Data Ethics & Privacy

Personal Information Protection

We take privacy seriously. All RTI documents are sanitized to remove:

  • Phone numbers and email addresses
  • Residential addresses
  • Personal identification numbers (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.)
  • Medical or financial records of individuals

Data Sources

We accept RTI replies from:

  • Voluntary submissions from RTI applicants
  • Publicly accessible government RTI portals
  • CIC/SIC orders and published reports
  • Court judgments citing RTI disclosures
  • Published NGO and civil society reports

Your Rights

If you find any content that:

  • Contains your personal information improperly
  • Violates your privacy
  • Was disclosed in error by the government
